It’s been a long time since I last updated this blog. Well, sad to say I don’t have any places to go, just house – school or other way around. Ooops, before I forget, last July 15 we went to Liliw, Laguna for the fourth time. We went there not to unwind but just like the previous visits, we went to Liliw for the purpose of buying slippers and shoes that we could sell here in our place.
After we finished our agenda in Liliw, my sister and her family brought us to Isdaan. It is a floating restaurant at the same time fun park located in Calauan, Laguna. It’s our first time to visit the place. We arrived late around 6 pm (not so sure) but the sun is already hiding. The place is nice with so many attractions to enjoy but the food is quite expensive.
I will share some of our photos next time. I need to get it first from my sister account in Facebook =). Too bad I didn’t bring my own camera. I thought we will just buy slippers/shoes in Liliw so I didn’t mind bringing camera. Lesson learned, always bring camera all the time.
Anyway, I have to sleep now need to rest because my daughter will have class early morning, that’s what I am saying house – school and other way around =).
Last April 29 we went to Liliw, Laguna known as Tsinelas capital of Laguna. This is our second time to visit the place. As usual our purpose is to buy shoes and slippers that we could sell. That time people are busy because they will be celebrating their 11th Liliw Gat Tayaw Tsinelas Festival 2012. As I am sharing this post the festival is happening already starting from April 30 till May 6. Different activities are line-up with regards with their festival.
We haven’t experience how they celebrate their festival because as I said we went there before the actual festival luckily we had the chance to take photo of some of the huge sandals that are feature in their festival.

Yesterday we went to Liliw a province of Laguna. This place is famous for its high-quality and creatively designed “tsinelas” (slippers). We went there not to unwind but for business. We look for footwear that we could sell. My sister-in-law and I wanted to sell footwear here in our place and we chose to get them in Liliw, Laguna. We believed how durable their footwear products.
Anyway, from Lucena, we traveled for 3 hours and took the zigzag road just to get there. But it is worth it when we finally arrived in Liliw, Laguna. There are less than 100 shoe stalls selling footwear including tsinelas (slippers) and shoes along the main street of Gat Tayaw Avenue. If you’re not aware Liliw is considered as the “Footwear capital of Laguna due to their successful footwear industry.
I’m not aware that they are celebrating yearly festival which called Liliw Gat Tayaw Tsinelas Festival happening every third week of April. And this year is their 11th year already celebrating this festival. Well, I hope I can witness this festival because they said it’s a colorful celebration and feature agricultural and industrial products.
How to get to Liliw, Laguna?
Take a bus at Buendia or Cubao going to Sta. Cruz, get off at the Sta. Cruz bus station, and ride jeepneys going to Liliw.
Via San Pablo City: Take a bus going to Lucena and get off at San Pablo and then take a jeepney from the town proper.
