Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Parish

Sorry not updating this blog from time to time. Having old laptop and not functioning well is really embarrassing so I couldn’t update all my blogs. Anyway, this picture wasn’t new. This was taken last August when we went to Lipa City. We didn’t explore the place of Lipa. But had a chance to visit the church of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Parish. After we gave our thanks and prayers to God, we visited the next church. I think it was the main cathedral but I didn’t see it. I didn’t go down from the car because of the heavy rains. After we visited two churches, we went to SM Lipa to eat lunch. We just stroll in the mall for a short time and we headed back to Lucena City. I think its 2-3 hours back home.

Daughter @ Villa Escudero

I’m back to blogging. I’ve been idled for months but now I’m definitely back from the thing i used to do for 5 years already. Honestly, this laptop haven’t used for a long time also and just contented checking emails and other online stuff using cell phone. All my blogs were affected because of my laziness lately. Anyway, I was checking my photo files and saw photos of my daughter with her cousins last summer. The photos were taken last April when my daughter’s cousins visited us all the way from Canada. See, these photos were taken 4 months ago and today is the only chance to share. So please laziness stay away from me haha. I want to go back to my regular blogging routine.

Back to the photos, I got jealous with my daughter because she went to Villa Escudero already (just kidding). I’m happy with my daughter though I wasn’t with here, but still she enjoyed the place with my sister’s family. My daughter sometimes doesn’t want to go without me but this time she did it so I’m happy with my girl. And i can see her happiness in all the photos here.

According to their official site – Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort was founded in the 1880s by Don Placido Escudero and his wife Dona Claudia Marasigan. Originally planted to sugarcane, the crop was converted to coconut by their son Don Arsenio Escudero in the early 1900s. A pioneering agro-industrialist, he built the country’s first working hydroelectric plant to supply his desiccated coconut factory and Villa Escudero, where he and his wife Dona Rosario Adap built in 1929.

Their children opened the estate to the public in 1981. From its humble beginnings, the resort has become a prime tourist destination for locals, overseas Filipinos and a wide array of foreign visitors to the country. It has a worldwide reputation as a showcase for the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage, offering a beguiling glimpse of its history, cuisine, dress, customs and natural beauty a mere two hours away from Manila.

Here are some of my daughter and cousins photos.

Hot to Get Here – Take the South superhighway and exit at 50A (Lucena, Legaspi, Batangas exit). Turn left at the Sto. Tomas junction. Head straight down, by-passing the town of Alaminos and San Pablo City proper. Slow down upon seeing Quezon arch and turn left immediately after.

Kwebang Lampas in Pagbilao, Quezon

Earlier I was searching for a cave near at my place. I haven’t tried going into a cave, so for some adventure this summer I want to experience inside a cave and I think experiencing this thing is cool, fun and exciting. I didn’t know that there is beach like Kwebang Lampas in Pagbilao, Quezon. I’m residing in Lucena and Pagbilao, Quezon is our neighboring town.

Kwebang lampas photo kwebanglampas1_zps21287609.jpg

According to my research, Kwebang Lampas is one of the best attractions in Pagbilao, Quezon. The place derived its name from a rock formation which forms part of a cove. The continuous action of the waves had sculpted the rock into a lovely and unique cave. If you are interested in caves and geological formations, or enthusiastic of white sand beaches, the beach and its Kwebang Lampas is a good place to see.

One of the travelers mentioned that this place is really beautiful and it’s like a virgin island. You can see the fishes because of the transparency of water. Oh well, I should visit Kwebang Lampas and the fact its near to us, there is no reason of not going in the place. If this happens, I will definitely give more information about the place.

Best Places to Visit in the Philippines this Summer

Time flies, it’s already the end of February and tomorrow is the start of another month. Perhaps you are already planning your summer vacation as early as today. If you would ask me, our family usually don’t plan summer vacation it’s just come unexpectedly. Just like last year we went to Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte and we didn’t plan it ahead of time. I remember my sister called in the morning and she said we will go to Batangas. Later in the afternoon, she called again to say Batangas tours will be changed to Ilocos Sur. So for this year I look forward to any unexpected places we would be visiting, I hope I have budget when that time comes.

I was searching on the best places to visit in the Philippines this summer and here are the places I got according to eaglenews.ph. She mentioned 10 beautiful places but i only got 8 from the list. I was thankful because I have been visited some of these places but still look forward to enjoy them again in the near future.
mayon volcano photo mayonvolcano_zps41107f72.jpeg1- Mayon Volcano – it is located in the province of Albay, part of Luzon island. It was said that this volcano is the most active volcano in the Philippines having erupted 49times in the past 400 years. Things you can do here are climbing, camping, hiking and photography. When my father was still with us, I remember him wanted to visit Albay but it didn’t push through.

chocolate hills photo chocolatehills_zpsf0223655.jpg2. Chocolate Hills – We have been in Cebu and Bohol last 2011. I was thankful because I have the chance to visit Chocolate Hills before the earthquake happened last year. Oh well, I’m sure the city government is doing all the possible ways to return the beauty of Bohol especially the tourist destinations.

puerto princesa underground river photo puertoprincesaundergroundriver_zps3708efda.jpg3. Puerto Princesa Underground River – The beautiful underground river and said to be the most beautiful subterranean river in the world. We should be proud of. I haven’t been in Palawan and this place is on my travel list. I have seen this Underground River in different TV shows and admiring the beauty of the place. I’m not surprised why it was included in the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

boracay photo boracay_zpsc25f984c.jpeg4. Boracay Island – it is located in Aklan, Western Visayas. It is the most famous island in the Philippines and known for its white sand. I have been in Boracay way back 2006 and it’s really a nice place to stay this summer. With so many activities to enjoy and still counting. I hope to visit Boracay again in the near future.

Vigan photo vigan_zps5ed1229b.jpeg5. Vigan City Located at the northern part of the Philippines, listed in the UNESCO world heritage list since 1999 for its unique Spanish colonial history in Asia and the very well-preserved Spanish monumental buildings which where built in the 18th century.
I visited Vigan 3 times and the previous was last summer. I will never get tired visiting this place because there are many good places to visit and if you want to experience the Spanish heritage; this is the right place.

El Nido Palawan photo elnidopalawan_zpsaa04137d.jpeg6. El Nido Palawan – who wouldn’t love to visit this place? Been seeing the place in the net and television and of course i’m not satisfied just looking at them. I want to see with my own eyes the beautiful place of El Nido. A perfect place for island hopping snorkeling and diving. El Nido is composed of 45 islands and islets, each with its own unique features.

Burnham park photo burnhampark_zpsa96c2666.jpeg7. Burnham ParkLocated at the heart of Baguio City, it was named after the American architect Daniel Hudson Burnham who laid the plans for the city. You can enjoy boating, bicycle, skating, sports and gaming areas. I’m thankful because I have been in Baguio for many times and have enjoyed this park.

Daughter is enjoying her short semestral vacation and of course I’m enjoying it too. This means I don’t need to wake up early to prepare her for school. She has only 10 days vacation, only few days but still happy at least we have time to relax and stop thinking of school. How I wish to go somewhere like spend a day or two in an inclusive hotel, get pamper, visit a nearby place and have some adventures but money is always the issue =).

I received an email from Metrodeal; an online store. One of the deals they are offering is All-Day Pass to Splash Island for Php250. I haven’t visited this place but I already saw this on TV and pictures. I find the place very interesting with different amenities to offer. If only I am near the place I will grab this chance to experience Splash Island. Well, as I’m writing this post only few hours left before the offer expires. So I don’t think I can make it. If you are near the place and wanted to unwind take this chance and bring your family.

Photo at Baclayon Church that was heavily damaged by 7.2 earthquake

Yesterday (October 15), an earthquake occurred at around 8:12am in Bohol island. I believed it was the strongest earthquake happened because it was recorded at 7.2. It’s so sad because many people died and according to the last news I heard more than 140 already and hundreds were injured. The 7.2 earthquake was caused by vertical movement of the East Bohol Fault in southern Bohol. It was said that the energy of this earthquake was equivalent to 32 Hiroshima bombs dropped in Japan during the Second World War. So imagined how strong it was.

Aside from Bohol, Cebu and other nearby places felt the said earthquake. It was the deadliest earthquake in the Philippines in 23 years. I remember in 1991, I was in high school that time and earthquake also occurred we were in the classroom when the earthquake happened so we immediately ran to the field. We were not the center of the earthquake that time but we experienced it and thankful because nothing happened to us. I knew the feeling of those victims of earthquake yesterday and I hope they are safe by now.

It’s so sad also that Baclayon Church in Bohol; one of the oldest churches in Asia was heavily damaged. I was browsing my old photos and saw one of my photos in this church. It was 2011 when I visited Cebu and Bohol and happy that I experienced the different tourist spots in both places.

Baclayon Church photo Baclayonchurch_zpsd2a110b3.jpg

Anyway, what happened yesterday was really heartbreaking but I know Filipinos are fighter and we will fight this battle as one. I may not have cash or in kind to offer but my prayers are here for all the victims of this earthquake.

Information from http://quezonresorts.com/

Borawan Padre Burgos, Quezon

Summer has passed but I didn’t enjoy it because we only visited one place and didn’t enjoy water much. Well, it’s now rainy season but it doesn’t mean I’ll stop searching for beautiful beaches especially in Quezon, Province. I hope next summer the family will visit/enjoy different beaches especially nearby beaches.

I’m from Quezon but I didn’t know there are many beautiful beaches in our province. Have you heard about Borawan? I heard this place to my sister. Her friends went to this beach and they said it’s a beautiful place. Well, I thought we are going to visit this beach last April to celebrate sister’s birthday but I don’t know what happened. Maybe next time, hope so.

Anyway, wonder why the beach called Borawan? They said it’s a mixture of Boracay and Palawan; it’s actually one of the hidden gems of Quezon, Province. Borawan has its own spectacular rock formations like the limestone cliffs of Palawan and crystal clear water and white sand of Boracay. I have been in Boracay many years ago and I enjoyed the fine powdery white sand and crystal clear water though travelers visited Borawan said; the beach doesn’t really have that fine powdery white sand of Boracay and the limestone isn’t as grand as those in El Nido but having both features in one place; white sand of Boracay and limestone cliffs of Palawan makes Borawan beach exceptionally beautiful.

Here are some photos of Borawan that I grabbed online. I hope next time I will share our own photos in this place, crossing fingers =)

Borawan is an undeveloped beach however many are already interested to visit and many travelers have been there. It is located in Brgy. Lipata, Padre Burgos, Quezon. I hope soon this beach will be developed because for sure it will be a big hit especially to all travelers and those who are looking for some adventures.
