How to do Vegas on a budget

Las Vegas usually inspires thoughts of expensive luxury and glamour and few people consider it a cheap destination for a holiday. At the very least, there is an expectation that the casino will swallow up a terrific amount of the funds.

In recent years, with the advent of Internet travel sites and airlines providing direct online flight bookings, the cost of flights has become increasingly competitive. Cheap flights are easily accessible, especially to destinations like the United States. Getting to Las Vegas cheaply has never been more possible as a result, particularly if you’re happy to travel mid week.

If you’re travelling on a budget, you’re probably already aware that a suite at the Mandalay is not going to be on the agenda, but there are a host of other perfectly well-appointed hotels available to you at reduced costs. The casino-hotels are a great choice for cheap place to bed down for the night and will put you right at the heart of the gambling and entertainment action. The New Frontier, at the Northern end of the Sunset Strip, offers comfortable rooms with good amenities and a 100,000 square foot casino in-house. For something more family friendly, the Flamingo is a more old-school Vegas hotel with a wonderful pool complex and well appointed rooms.

To save even more bucks, venture away from the Strip and off the beaten track to a motor inn. The Downtowner Motel is a classic two storey motel just like those seen in the movies. The rooms are clean and comfortable and offer a relaxing stay away from the hectic night-life of Vegas and a very reasonably priced, leaving you with more money to indulge yourself in the clubs, bars and casinos.

Dining on a budget

It’s important to know the best budget places to eat in Las Vegas if you really want to save money. Of course many of the larger hotels offer all you can eat buffets, but the room costs reflect this.

To save the most money and soak up some of the vintage Vegas atmosphere, you’re better off heading down town. Downtown Vegas was the place to be in its heyday, but later gained a reputation as somewhere that was dangerous to venture into after dark. However, it’s making somewhat of a comeback. With a range of budget friendly ethnic restaurants and trendy dive-style bars to choose from, finding a purse friendly meal is not a problem.

You’ll also find several old-style Vegas hotels within walking distance of this area. The Golden Nugget offers cheap rooms and Main Street Station, with Buffalo Bill’s stagecoach parked right outside, has rooms for under $50. Talking of Buffalo Bill’s, his namesake hotel and resort is also a cheap place to stay, with a great breakfast buffet which can help to stave off the hangover from the cocktails of the night before.

Beware the extra charges

Many of the resorts, hotels and restaurants offer Happy Hour specials which can help you to save even more money and eat, drink and be merry on a shoestring.

Be warned, though. Many places charge resort fees and taxes which can add to your costs and visiting some of the fancier clubs and bars can see your evening subject to a cover charge, so include these in your budget if you really can’t resist.

Now hopefully you know how to save money on your stay in Vegas it’s time to save some money on your flights to USA by comparing some cheap flights. Post by Jamie Knop a travel blogger and writer from the UK.

Use of Payday loans

Only 3 days left before Christmas Holidays. This only means lot of activities, spending more and just having fun. How I wish to visit other countries to spend Christmas but this is not possible. If only Santa is for real I might ask him to give me some money to use this Christmas. Anyway, I was surprised to know that many Americans are using payday loans especially during their vacation, see this infographic for more information.

What to Pack for a Snow-filled Holiday

Are you hoping to travel to the mountains this winter? If you haven’t booked your snow holiday already, now is a perfect time to do so. You can find some fabulous last minute deals on skiing holidays 2013 if you know where to look, and in the process, save a bundle.

When it comes to skiing and snowboarding holidays, many people always pack too much. Visitors who aren’t accustomed to vacations near the slopes often stuff their luggage with as much thermal gear as possible when a lot of it isn’t even needed. Take a look at this basic list of essentials and travel light this winter.

If you’re not a seasoned skier, be sure to hire as much equipment as possible when you arrive at the resort. This saves valuable space and weight in your baggage that would ordinarily be taking up by bulky items such as ski and board boots.

Thin warm layers are better than bulky knits, such as thermal long sleeved tops and thin warm t shirts. That way, if you do find yourself too hot, you can strip away a layer and still be warm. A nice waterproof jacket is the perfect outer layer.

Waterproof ski pants will help you to stay dry and warm. Long johns or leggings underneath will keep in the warmth too.

Plenty of thick socks are a must, as is a hat that covers your ears. Protect your eyes with goggles or sunglasses and take some nice warm waterproof gloves too.

Take some sunscreen – you are likely to get burnt on the slopes without it.

Whether you’re setting off as a family, a couple or you’re looking for group snowboarding deals, you’ll be sure to find a perfect offer online for you and your companions this winter.

Malls, Hotels and Restaurants you’ll enjoy in Lucena

Though we are living in the city still we are lacking of many good places to visit. Sorry to say this but we are really missing of good places in our place. I am thinking that one day we will have here beautiful spots like museum, zoo, park and alike. Well, we have park here of course but I must say compared to other park I have been visited our park is not superb. I think they need to re-paint or make some makeover.

Well, though we are lacking of many beautiful spots still we have malls, hotels and restaurants you’ll enjoy in Lucena. We have modern shopping malls which serve as Lucena’s major commercial centers. These are SM City Lucena which is located at the corner of Maharlika Highway and Dalahican Road in Brgy. Ibabang Dupay, Gaisano Mall located at LandCo Business Park on M.L. Tagarao Street and Pacific Mall wherein it is actually situated in Gaisano Mall.

Aside from these malls, Lucena has hotels and restaurants to offer. Some of the hotels are  Queen Margarette Hotel, Sulo Riviera Hotel, Star Garden Towel hotel, Diamond Resort and Hotel. Still there are more and quite affordable compared to the above hotels.

If you are into food don’t worry because Lucena has fine dining restaurants to offer. We have Buddy’s which already has 3 branches; one in Quezon Ave, SM City Lucena and newly opened in Pacific Mall. Other fine dining restaurants are Giusseppe Bar Y Restaurante, an Italian (fusion) experience, Diamond D’ Cafeteria Nook & Gazebo Astoria located in Diamond Resort and Hotel, Apple and Peach, Dealo Koffee Klatch, and Gerry’s Grill. Well, I think there are more but I haven’t explored our place lately. I think I need to go out and wander our place and stop complaining hahah.

Anyhow, mall, hotel and restaurant are good but not all can enjoy this. I hope one day we will have beautiful spots that everyone could enjoy and afford.

First time in Manila Zoo,

Can you believe I’m already in my 30’s but this is my first time that I have visited Manila Zoo. I’m not from Manila so I think that’s the reason and when I was growing we didn’t have the chance to visit the place. But finally last month I had the chance to visit Manila zoo because daughter had field trip. Happy to know they will be going in Manila Zoo because as I said it’s our first time to visit the place plus daughter keeps on bugging me to visit zoo. We have zoo in our place but its only a mini zoo so only few animals are kept in the place and no huge animals like elephant, giraffe and other big animals.

Anyway, I was expecting much with the zoo because of what I have seen in other zoo (especially abroad) but I was so disappointed because we’ve only seen few animals. I was thinking were gonna see animals that we are not familiar. Well, I’m not sure if we already wandered everything of the Zoo and not sure if the animals we saw were the only animals they had but I’m still happy with the experience.

Here are some of the animals and our photos in Manila Zoo

So we have the chance to see the leading stars Jodie Santa Maria, Richard Yap (known as Papa Chen/Sir Chief) and Mutya Orquia.
